Welcome, Asiya!
Join us in welcoming our newest addition to our Board of Directors! Interested in serving families of color in the Seattle area? Visit focseattle.org/board to learn more about joining

Asiya (she/her) has lived in Illinois, Michigan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and, since 2014, Washington – a place she wishes she had discovered earlier in life. She joined FOCS (something else she wishes she had discovered earlier) as a board member in April, 2021. Drawn to FOCS’ vision of economic and racial justice, its elevation of mothers of color, and its commitment to building diverse and supportive communities, Asiya humbly hopes to further the tremendous strides this organization has made in providing safe spaces for families of color and the community at large to talk, feel, listen, learn, and receive and provide the type of support that promotes understanding, compassion, and love. Asiya has over a decade of experience as a management consultant and marketer. She completed her undergraduate degree in economics and psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and is currently in the executive MBA program at the University of Washington. Asiya lives with her husband and two young children in a suburb of Seattle, where she enjoys hiking, cooking, swimming, reading, solving puzzles (jigsaw and crossword), writing, learning, and thinking
